Villa Park 1

Classically elegant, this traditional style home boasts warm hues and curved lines for a look that is truly timeless.  With an open floorplan and plenty of seating in the living and family rooms, this home was designed to accommodate the lifestyle of our client.  With the living room being the first thing people see when coming in the front doors it was important to make a good first impression.  They wanted something elegant yet comfortable and inviting. Creating a more formal entry we added an entry table and light fixture to set it apart.  Installing rich wood flooring added function, while putting a custom inset area rug beneath the living room sitting area, added a unique appeal.  Furniture placement was carefully considered to meet the needs of their entertaining style.  Bright pops of color created interest and blending silky and soft textures made it comfortable.  Large French doors along the back of the room opened it up to an outdoor sitting area and also allowed natural light to fill the room.

Just off of the living room was the formal dining area.  Our client wanted to keep their original furniture and also lighten up this dark room. To achieve this, we added another window to bring in the natural color from the lush landscaping and bathe the room in sunlight.  Next, we reupholstered their existing chairs in rich colors and patterns to give their furniture new life.  Bringing in rich new wood floors helped to make the colors pop and we anchored the table with a custom area rug.  Fresh paint helped to highlight the room’s existing architectural detail, while the soft elegance of the draperies and delicate chandelier, helped to create a comfortable yet more formal dining room.

Once the dining room had the new window to their pool, the client knew they needed to bring new life to the yard as well. Using some of their existing pieces and adding to them, we were able to create conversation and lounging areas throughout the expansive yard.  We added pops of color to the fire pit area by making custom seat cushions for the built in cement benches and pillows for a relaxing back rest.  Colorful flowers were added to pots and a few lounge chairs were selected for next to the pool.  With a great outdoor kitchen already there, we added a new granite countertop and barstools.  More seating in this area, an outdoor TV and a heater made this a truly great outdoor room.  Just off the family room from the house a large sliding door opened up to a large gathering table with an outdoor chandelier for family meals or parties.

The large family room was re-imagined to provide more open seating and a nook table that turned into a game table when they had quests.  New paint and accessories were added for a fresh new look.  The powder room just off this area got new wallpaper and lighting to coordinate with the new design.  Not to be forgotten, each bedroom received a full makeover.  With custom bedding in a rich warm color palette and new furniture, each of these areas were unique but carried the design throughout the house.

The master bedroom was large with tall ceilings and angled walls.  The space was awkward and hard to space plan for the client.  We did a custom build out wall for the bed with a cornice and drapery panels to make it feel more cozy and intimate.  New furniture and sitting areas made the space function and flow.  When everything was installed and accessorized the client couldn’t believe the transformation it was a whole new house!
