Updating this outdated master bathroom and making it more functional and less accident prone were the main goals for this project. The client was tired of the outdated honey colored cabinetry and glass block, and also felt that the shower was unsafe with its current design.

The existing shower was unsafe. It had a step to get in and out of that was done in tile and was very slippery when wet. The client’s main goal to completely gut the shower to make it a walk in shower that was safer and more accessible. The new shower is large, functional, and most importantly, safe. In the redesign, we incorporated a warm-toned travertine tile and a multicolored pebble accent. To really make the shower a spa-like experience, per the homeowner’s request, we installed a shower system with a regular wall mounted shower head, a handheld shower, and a rain shower. The client loves how the shower turned out and looks forward to using it every day!

The vanity also makes a huge impact in this bathroom. The existing cabinetry was in really good shape, but the finish was outdated so instead of replacing the entire vanity, we had the honey colored cabinetry refinished in a rich, dark espresso. This made a huge difference in the feel of the bathroom and updated it while adding warmth.

To tie everything together, we replaced the flooring with a wood look tile. This particular tile has a rustic, worn look that added a really interesting layer to this bathroom’s overall feel. We then added art and accessories to add a touch of color and finish off the room.

This bathroom needed to be updated and made safer and we did all of that while making it look beautiful at the same time. Now the client loves their master bathroom and so do we!
