This client loved her home but really felt it needed to be updated. Entertaining was important to her and the space just wasn’t allowing her to do things the way she wanted. As sometimes happens, she had run out of ideas and knew she needed a professional with a new perspective on the space.

The flow of the house didn’t work for the way our client entertained and that was the first order of business. Re-thinking the layout was crucial. Our client loved her private, quite yard and loved having her parties gather in this space but there wasn’t a good way to get there. The flow of the space cut off access to the yard and she was forced to decide between the two areas. By removing a set of windows off the back of the family room, and a small side door we added a large center open slider instead which opened up the entire back of the house. It not only allowed people to gather in both areas it also let the sunlight bathe the room in light. There was another small window off the kitchen nook where we added a smaller slider to open up to a brand new patio and custom BBQ addition we also designed.

With the new gorgeous view of her lush landscaping we wanted the color scheme to be bright and fresh to compliment and make everything feel bigger. A palate of light greens and creams with a little blue was a perfect match. A fun print was used on window treatments and pillows combined with rich textures in both trims and secondary fabrics. Rich warm wood tones balanced out the space and a soft green was used on the walls. The kitchen was also updated with re-finishing the cabinets to the same rich finish as the new family room built in. New granite was selected for the countertops as well, making it look like a brand new kitchen!

Our client was so happy with the way her family room and kitchen turned out she did other projects in her home as well. Her master bathroom was also outdated and in desperate need of a renovation. The shower was a small stall shower and the bathtub was a sunken tub that didn’t work for her any longer. The flooring was carpet and that wasn’t holding up very well in the wet areas. In short, everything needed to change. Our client wanted a larger shower with a seat as well as a larger Jacuzzi bathtub. She liked the double sinks and wanted to keep as large of a vanity as possible. We moved around some plumbing and were able to accomplish all of the client’s wishes. With a large corner tub and larger shower our client had a new spa-like bathroom she was so excited about. Wallpaper and new lighting really helped to give the space a nice ambiance and a custom vanity gave her the storage she loved. Rich warm colors were used in the space to tie in with the color scheme in her newly designed master bedroom. When the client saw the finished space she knew it would be something she would never want to change.
